on the quality of education in all New Zealand schools and early childhood services, including private schools, kura kaupapa Mäori (Mäori
language immersion schools), special schools and ngä köhanga reo (Mäori language early childhood groups).

Nursery and Pre School

Poppets Early Learning Centre is a new purpose built centre that opened in Queenstown in 2002 in response to community needs. The licensee
and teachers provide an under-two and an over-two programme for children attending on a full, part-time or casual basis.

The Queenstown Childcare Centre Nursery is located close to the kindergarten and primary school in Queenstown. This centre is under the same
management as the Queenstown Childcare Centre Preschool and is situated on the same site. The centre provides high quality care for infants

Wakatipu Kindergarten is one of five kindergartens operated by the Central Otago Free Kindergarten Association (COFKA). The kindergarten has a
number of children from diverse cultural backgrounds. The teachers encourage parental involvement in the kindergarten programme and

The Otago Playcentre Association operates the Queenstown Playcentre. The associations secretary is the licensee. The Playcentre has a parent
committee that is responsible for the day-to-day administration of the centre.

years. The school board, management and teachers provide students with an attractive environment in which to learn. Student well-being is enhanced
